Wobbly tire - how to reseat your tireUpdated 4 months ago

How to tell if I have a wobbly tire

Generally, if your riding is not bumpy, or you can't see your tire wobbling while you ride, there's no need to try and reseat your tire. But, if you're feeling your tire off-track, you may have a tire that needs to be reseated.

How to fix a wobbly tire

1. Have your air pump ready - we're about to deflate and re-inflate the tire.
2. Fully deflate the tire.
3. Using your hands, grab the "base" of the tire where it meets the rim,  and massage the tire. The goal here is to loosen the tire from the rim  in hopes that it'll seat straighter.
4. Repeat this process all around the tire.
5. Inflate the tire enough to feel the pressure, but where you can still massage the bead of the tire.
6. At this pressure, repeat steps 3 and 4.
7. Fully inflate the tire and give it a spin.

What do do if reseating your tire didn't solve the wobbling

In many cases, it takes multiple rounds of reseating to get a tire perfect. Don't be afraid to try again, letting as much air out as you can and slow reinflating / massaging the bead to get an even gap on all sides.
